We would 100% recommend Garden Buildings Cornwall to anyone looking to purchase a garden room. From start to finish, the team (Builders, Electricians, Plasterers and Painter/Decorator) was incredibly efficient, and the room was constructed in no time. The craftsmanship is absolutely flawless. The workmen were not only skilled but also a pleasure to work with – truly perfectionists in their trade. A special thanks to Matt and Bradley, who built the room – they were both friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The team at GBC were incredibly helpful, right from the first enquiry phone call where Andrea arranged a site visit to discuss the unusual placement of the building. Kevin and Stella made short work of designing a space for my needs, taking into account the unusual placement and necessary planning regulations, and before long Tim, Jordan, and Luke were on site laying the foundations. The attention to detail, the care, and the workmanship of the team on-site has been second to none. They showed time-and-time again how they sweat the small stuff to really give your building that feeling of perfection. I really value that level of dedication and price in their work, and really shows what they stand for as a business. From our first contact with Garden Buildings when we called in at the showroom, right through to the finishing touches of our Garden room we have received a first class service. 'All' of the workers involved have been friendly, hard working and more than willing to talk through what they have been doing on the day. The garden room itself is much much more substantial than our previous good quality but old shed and we are so glad we went for the upgrade rather than cheaper options. You do get what you pay for!. Do you require planning permissions for garden annexes?
In most instances building a log cabin/garden room in your garden falls withing the remit of Permitted Development as long as its purpose is incidental to the enjoyment of the dwellinghouse. For peace of mind it is possible to easily obtain written confirmation whether planning permission is/isn’t required by submitting a ‘Do I need planning?’ form through your local Council Planning Portal. It is normally submitted with a copy of an ordnance survey map for the property with the location of the garden room marked on it and a supporting e-mail with an outline of the usage and a proposed picture of the Garden room. A response to this is usually provided within 10 days of submitting this application.
